# Is it safe and efficient to spray right now?

> PulveCast tells agricultural spray operators whether conditions are safe and efficient right now: Delta T, humidity, spray drift, thermal inversion, wind and gusts, Kp index and RTK satellites. Free on Android and iOS, for drones, tractors and uniports.

PulveCast reads the weather the way a spray operator does. It combines Delta T, relative humidity, spray drift risk, thermal inversion, wind and gusts — plus Kp index and RTK satellite visibility for aerial work — into one verdict for the exact hour and the exact field you are about to treat.

Free on Android and iOS. No ads, no account, no data collection you did not ask for.

## One verdict, not fifteen numbers

Every hour of the forecast is checked against the limits of your equipment, your crop and your nozzle. The result is a traffic light you can read from the cab or from the take-off point.

- **Safe to spray** — Every parameter is inside the range you configured. Delta T is in the evaporation window, drift risk is low, there is no inversion layer, and — for aerial work — GNSS and Kp are healthy.
- **Spray with caution** — At least one parameter is close to its limit. The app names which one, explains what it does to the application, and shows how much room is left.
- **Do not spray** — At least one parameter is outside its limit. Spraying now risks losing the product to evaporation or drift, or damaging a neighbouring area.

## What PulveCast measures

Agronomic indicators first, raw meteorology second. Every card explains what the number means for your application, not just what it is.

- **Safe-to-spray verdict** — Green, yellow or red for the selected hour, computed from every parameter at once against your own limits. Tap any card to see the value, the threshold and why it matters.
- **Delta T** — The difference between dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperature: the single best indicator of droplet evaporation. Below 2 the droplets stay suspended too long; above 8 they evaporate before reaching the target.
- **Spray drift risk** — Wind speed crossed with the droplet class of your nozzle, from Very Fine to Ultra Coarse. Shows optimal, caution or avoid, so you know when to move to a coarser droplet instead of stopping.
- **Thermal inversion** — Compares the air temperature at 80 m and at 10 m from the same model. When the upper air is warmer, the spray cloud stops dispersing and can be carried far off target — the classic dawn hazard.
- **Wind speed, gusts and direction** — Hour by hour, against the ceiling of your equipment. Agricultural drone models load their own maximum wind resistance automatically.
- **Humidity and dew point** — Relative humidity against a configurable band and the dew point that tells you when condensation on the canopy will start washing product off the leaf.
- **Drone, tractor or uniport** — Pick your equipment class and the app adapts: aerial adds Kp index and satellite cards, ground drops them and keeps the agronomic core.
- **Crop presets** — Soybean, corn, sugarcane, cotton, wheat and coffee arrive with sensible thresholds, or set your own for any crop and nozzle combination.
- **Kp index and RTK satellites** — For aerial work: planetary Kp from GFZ Potsdam and the visible GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou counts computed from orbital data for your coordinates, because a geomagnetic storm ruins pass accuracy.
- **Field tools** — Hourly forecast table, wind profile by altitude, wind compass, spray calculator, safezone map, pre-operation checklists and 24-hour Delta T and humidity history.
- **Your units, your limits** — km/h, m/s, mph or knots; °C or °F; metres or feet; 12 or 24-hour clock. Every threshold in the app can be changed to match your own operating standard.
- **Works where the signal does not** — The last loaded forecast for a location stays available offline, clearly marked, so the app still answers when you reach the far end of the property.

## How it works

1. **Pick your equipment** — Drone or tractor / uniport. For agricultural drones, choose a model and the wind and temperature limits load automatically; ground equipment hides the aerial-only cards.
2. **Pick your field and crop** — Search a location or use GPS. Choose a crop preset — soybean, corn, sugarcane, cotton, wheat, coffee — or set your own thresholds and nozzle class.
3. **Find the window** — Scroll the next hours and the next days. The traffic light and the hourly table show exactly when the field is sprayable, and the alerts tell you why it is not.

## Aerial and ground, in one app

- **Agricultural drones** — Presets for 17 models across DJI Agras, XAG, Hylio and TTA, updated remotely without an app update. Adds Kp index, GPS / GLONASS / Galileo / BeiDou visibility and RTK signal quality, because geomagnetic activity and satellite geometry decide whether your passes stay on the line.
- **Tractors and uniports** — The same agronomic core — Delta T, humidity, dew point, drift, thermal inversion, wind and gusts — without the aerial-only cards. Set your own boom height, nozzle class and wind ceiling.

## Where the data comes from

PulveCast does not invent weather. It aggregates public and licensed providers and shows you which one is active.

- [Open-Meteo](https://open-meteo.com/) — Default provider: 7-day hourly forecast, wind by altitude, the 10 m / 80 m temperature pair used for thermal inversion, geocoding and time zone.
- [WeatherAPI](https://www.weatherapi.com/) — Alternative 3-day forecast for Pro subscribers, completed with Open-Meteo for the remaining days.
- [Apple WeatherKit](https://developer.apple.com/weatherkit/) — Alternative forecast of up to 10 days for Pro subscribers, requested through a server-side proxy so the credentials never reach the app.
- [GFZ Potsdam](https://spaceweather.gfz-potsdam.de/) — Planetary Kp index — geomagnetic activity that degrades GNSS and RTK accuracy.
- [CelesTrak](https://celestrak.org/) — Orbital elements for the GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou constellations, used to compute satellite visibility at your coordinates.
- [OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/) — Base map and restriction zones for the safezone map.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is PulveCast free?

Yes. The spray verdict, Delta T, humidity, dew point, drift risk, thermal inversion, wind and gusts, today's forecast, equipment and drone presets, checklists and — for aerial equipment — the Kp index and satellite cards are all free, with no ads and no account. Pro is an optional monthly subscription that adds multi-day planning, the hourly table, the field tools and the premium weather providers.

### What do "safe to spray", "spray with caution" and "do not spray" mean?

For the selected location and hour, PulveCast compares every parameter it has — Delta T, relative humidity, spray drift risk, thermal inversion, wind speed and gusts, temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, visibility and, for aerial equipment, Kp index and satellite count — against the limits configured for your equipment, crop and nozzle. If every parameter is within limits the verdict is "safe to spray". If one or more are close to a limit it is "spray with caution". If any parameter is outside its limit it is "do not spray", and the app names the parameter responsible.

### What is Delta T and which range should I use?

Delta T is the difference between the dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures, and it predicts how fast a droplet evaporates. PulveCast uses 2 °C to 8 °C as the default ideal window: below 2 the air is nearly saturated and fine droplets stay airborne and drift; above 8 a significant share of the spray evaporates before reaching the target. The band is configurable, because the right range depends on droplet size and product.

### How does PulveCast detect thermal inversion?

It compares the forecast air temperature at 80 metres with the temperature at 10 metres, taking both values from Open-Meteo so the readings come from the same model and stay consistent. When the higher level is warmer than the lower one by more than the configured threshold — 1.5 °C by default — an inversion layer is likely, and the app flags it. Under an inversion the spray cloud does not disperse vertically and can be transported a long way off target.

### Does PulveCast work for tractors and uniports, or only drones?

Both. Choose the equipment type in the settings. The agronomic core — Delta T, humidity, dew point, spray drift, thermal inversion, wind and gusts — applies to every kind of equipment. Selecting ground equipment hides the aerial-only features (drone presets, RTK and GPS settings, Kp index and satellite cards) so the screen only shows what matters to you.

### Which agricultural drones are supported?

PulveCast ships presets for 17 agricultural models across DJI Agras, XAG, Hylio and TTA, including the Agras T10 through T100, XAG P100 Pro, P40 and V40, Hylio AG-130 and AG-230, and TTA G200 and M6E-1. The list is updated remotely, so new models appear without an app update. If your machine is not listed, choose the custom option and enter the wind and temperature limits from its manual.

### Where does the weather data come from?

Open-Meteo is the default provider and supplies the 7-day forecast, the wind profile by altitude and the 10 m / 80 m temperature pair used for thermal inversion. Pro subscribers can switch to WeatherAPI (3 days, completed with Open-Meteo) or Apple WeatherKit (up to 10 days, through a server-side proxy). The Kp index comes from GFZ Potsdam, satellite positions are computed from CelesTrak orbital elements, and the safezone map draws restriction zones over OpenStreetMap.

### Why does the forecast sometimes disagree with what I see in the field?

A forecast is a numerical model output for a grid cell, not a measurement at your headland. Wind especially varies over short distances near tree lines, buildings and terrain, and gusts are inherently hard to predict. Use PulveCast to choose the window and to catch the conditions you cannot see — inversion, Delta T, drift risk — and confirm wind and humidity on site before you open the boom.

### Does the app work without internet?

Partly. The last forecast loaded for a location is cached on the device and shown with an offline badge, so you can still consult it in the field. Refreshing the forecast, the Kp index and satellite data requires a connection.

### Do I need an account? What data is collected?

There is no account, no sign-in and no forum. Equipment, crop presets, thresholds, checklists, favourite locations, language and units are stored locally on your device. Location coordinates are sent to the weather providers to fetch a forecast and are not stored on our servers. Diagnostics are aggregated and anonymous. The privacy policy has the full detail.

### How does the Pro subscription work, and can I use it on more than one device?

Pro is an auto-renewable monthly subscription processed by Apple or Google. Eligible store accounts are offered an official one-month free trial by the store. It renews every month until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. Purchases are validated server-side, so Pro is tied to your store account and follows you to any device signed in with it — use "Restore purchases". There is no lifetime or one-time purchase.

### Is there a web version of PulveCast?

No. PulveCast is distributed through Google Play and the App Store for Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Macs. This site is the product page, not the application.

# Why PulveCast exists

> PulveCast is built by independent developer Renan Rafael Bertoldo in Brazil. Learn why the app exists, how the spray verdict is computed from Delta T, drift, inversion and wind, and which data providers it relies on.

- Canonical URL: https://pulvecast.web.app/about
- HTML version: https://pulvecast.web.app/about
- Language: en
- Last updated: 2026-09-12
- Site guide for agents: https://pulvecast.web.app/llms.txt

Spray operators already know what Delta T is. What they do not have is one screen that checks every agronomic limit against a real forecast for the exact hour they are about to work.

## The problem

A generic weather app tells you it will be 28 °C with 12 km/h of wind. It will not tell you that at that temperature and humidity your Delta T is above 10 and half of a fine-droplet application will evaporate before it reaches the canopy. It will not warn you that at 05:40 the air 80 metres up is warmer than the air at 10 metres, so your spray will hang in an inversion layer and drift somewhere you did not choose. PulveCast was built to close that gap, first for agricultural drone operators and then for tractors and uniports.

## How the verdict is computed

For the selected location and hour, the app evaluates every parameter it has against the limits configured for your equipment, crop and nozzle. Each parameter returns green, yellow or red; the overall verdict is the worst of them. Nothing is hidden: tapping any card shows the value, the threshold it was compared against, and what that parameter does to an application.

- Delta T is derived from dry-bulb temperature and relative humidity. The default ideal window is 2 °C to 8 °C.
- Relative humidity is checked against a configurable band, 55 % to 90 % by default: below it droplets evaporate, above it the product runs off.
- Spray drift risk crosses wind speed with the droplet class of your nozzle, from Very Fine to Ultra Coarse.
- Thermal inversion is estimated from the Open-Meteo 80 m and 10 m temperature pair only, so both readings come from the same model. The default alert threshold is a 1.5 °C difference.
- Wind speed and gusts are compared with your equipment ceiling — automatic for the supported agricultural drone models.
- For aerial equipment only, the Kp index and the visible GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou counts are checked, because geomagnetic storms and poor satellite geometry degrade RTK accuracy.

## Data providers

## What PulveCast is not

It is not an authorisation to fly or to spray, not a substitute for the product label, and not a replacement for measuring conditions at the field. A forecast is a model output; wind in particular changes fast near obstacles and terrain. Treat the app as a planning and go/no-go aid, and confirm on site.

## Who builds it

PulveCast is developed and maintained by Renan Rafael Bertoldo, an independent software developer in Brazil, who also builds Drone Weather Forecast. There is no company behind it, no investor, and no advertising business model — which is why Pro exists.

            - **App preferences (on-device):** Equipment type, operational limits, crop/nozzle presets, checklists, favorite locations, language, and units. These are stored in local storage on your device and are not synced to a developer-operated user account.

            - **Support and Contact:** Any emails, suggestions, or reports you send to us for customer support.

#### 1.2 Information Collected Automatically

            - **Precise Location Data:** With your explicit consent, the Service may access your device's GPS/location coordinates to fetch local weather forecasts and agricultural metrics. Location coordinates are transmitted anonymously to weather API providers, are processed in volatile memory, and are not stored permanently on our servers. You can enter locations manually instead, in which case no GPS data is collected.

            - **Sensor Data (Device Orientation/Motion):** The app may access device orientation data locally to power the wind direction compass. This data is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

            - **Usage and Diagnostics:** Aggregated analytics (operating system version, device model, app version, language settings, and feature usage events) via Firebase Analytics to diagnose issues and improve the product. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

            - **In-App Purchases and Entitlements:** Transaction identifiers, receipt/purchase validation logs, and subscription status (e.g., active monthly Pro subscription) for Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We do not collect or store your financial information, credit card numbers, or billing addresses — these are handled exclusively by Apple or Google.

            - **App integrity:** Firebase App Check tokens may be used to protect backend APIs (for example, the Apple WeatherKit proxy) from abuse.

### 2. How We Use Information

            - To deliver local weather forecasts, wind profiles, Delta T, spray drift risk index, and thermal inversion warnings.

            - To validate in-app purchases and restore premium entitlements.

            - To monitor app security, detect fraud, and verify app integrity (e.g., via Firebase App Check).

            - To analyze anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve features.

            - To comply with regulatory and legal obligations.

### 3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / LGPD)

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Brazil (LGPD), our processing of your personal data rests on:

            - **Contractual Performance:** To provide weather features, tools, and manage Pro subscriptions purchased through the stores.

            - **Consent:** For precise GPS coordinates when you grant location permission. Consent can be revoked at any time via your device settings.

            - **Legitimate Interests:** To maintain security, verify app integrity, and resolve software bugs.

            - **Legal Obligation:** To maintain purchase records or respond to law enforcement requests.

### 4. Third-Party Services and Data Integration

The Service integrates third-party APIs to deliver core functionalities. These services process data under their own respective privacy policies:

                    Provider
                    Purpose
                    Privacy Policy Link

                    gfz-potsdam.de/data-protection

We do not sell your personal data, and there are no third-party ad networks embedded in the application. We do not use App Tracking Transparency / IDFA for advertising.

### 5. Data Storage, Security, and Transfers

Most preference data remains on your device. Purchase validation and WeatherKit proxy requests are processed via Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure (primarily United States data centers) using TLS in transit. While we take reasonable steps to secure the Service, no internet-based service can guarantee 100% security.

### 6. Data Retention

            - **On-device preferences:** Remain until you clear app data or uninstall the app.

            - **Analytics:** Aggregated usage events are retained according to Firebase Analytics retention settings (typically up to 14 months).

            - **Purchase records:** Entitlement validation logs may be retained as needed to support restores and fraud prevention, subject to Apple/Google policies.

Because PulveCast does not create user accounts, there is no in-app “delete account” flow. To request deletion of any personal data you may have sent by email (for example, support messages), contact us at [renan10r_@hotmail.com](mailto:renan10r_@hotmail.com).

### 7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [renan10r_@hotmail.com](mailto:renan10r_@hotmail.com). We will reply within 30 days.

### 8. Service Suspension without Prior Notice

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend, terminate, or completely discontinue the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice. If the Service is discontinued, no refunds, reparations, or compensations will be paid by the developer beyond any remedies available under Apple App Store or Google Play policies for auto-renewable subscriptions.

### 9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for or directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have accidentally collected data from a child, please contact us for immediate removal.

### 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be marked with the "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Welcome to PulveCast! Before using our mobile application or web services, please read the following Terms of Use carefully. By using PulveCast, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER WARNING: Operating agricultural spraying equipment (drones, tractors, uniports) and applying chemicals are high-risk activities. This application is solely an auxiliary tool and does not replace operational planning, real-time physical measurements at the location, and strict compliance with applicable aviation and agricultural regulations. Use at your own risk.

### 1. Service Description and Features

1.1 PulveCast is a hybrid mobile and web application designed as a co-pilot for agricultural spraying operators (drones, tractors, and uniports).

1.2 The application offers and aggregates the following features and information:

            - **Weather Forecasts:** Temperature, wind speed and gusts, relative humidity, dew point, atmospheric pressure, cloud cover, precipitation probability/volume, and visibility.

            - **Calculated Agricultural Metrics:** Delta T (evaporation rate indicator), spray drift risk (Spray Drift), and thermal inversion risk.

            - **Satellite and GPS/RTK Parameters (drones):** Real-time estimation of visible satellites (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou systems) and monitoring of geomagnetic activity (KP Index) to identify risks of electromagnetic interference in drone compasses and RTK positioning. These metrics are hidden for tractor/uniport mode.

            - **Equipment & Crop Presets:** Equipment type selection (drone or tractor/uniport), preconfigured operational limits for popular drone models (e.g., DJI Agras, XAG), and target crop presets.

            - **Operation Planning Tools:** Customizable checklists, spray mixture calculator, and wind direction compass.

1.3 The application is provided under a freemium model. Core weather features are free. PulveCast Pro is an auto-renewable monthly subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play, unlocking premium tools (such as altitude wind profile, favorites, hourly table forecast, crop presets, premium weather sources, and wind compass).

1.4 PulveCast does not require user accounts or sign-in. Preferences are stored locally on your device.

### 2. Full Disclaimer of Warranties ("As Is")

2.1 PulveCast and all information and features contained therein are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

2.2 While we pull data from reputable weather and aerospace services (including Open-Meteo, WeatherAPI, Apple WeatherKit, GFZ Potsdam, and Celestrak), the developer **does not warrant** the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, or reliability of such information. Actual weather conditions can change rapidly and may differ significantly from forecasts.

            - Fines, penalties, or regulatory sanctions imposed by aviation or environmental authorities due to non-compliant operations;

            - Service interruptions, loss of user data (such as saved checklists or favorites), or database failures.

### 5. Suspension, Discontinuation, and Deletion of the App Without Prior Notice

5.1 The developer reserves the right, **at any time, in their sole discretion, and without prior notice, notification, or justification**, to modify, suspend, limit, interrupt, or **permanently delete the application, website, servers, databases, or any associated services**, in whole or in part.

5.2 You agree and acknowledge that the discontinuation, termination, or deletion of the application or its servers **will not entitle you to any damages, compensation, or refunds from the developer**, beyond remedies that may be available under Apple App Store or Google Play policies for auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases inside the application represent a limited license to use Pro features while the subscription is active and while the application remains available.

### 6. Intellectual Property

6.1 PulveCast, including its brand, logo, source code, UI design, calculation algorithms, texts, images, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Renan Rafael Bertoldo and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

6.2 You are strictly prohibited from decompiling, reverse engineering, copying, modifying, reproducing, distributing, selling, licensing, or creating derivative works from PulveCast's code or interface without the prior written consent of the developer.

### 7. Changes to These Terms

7.1 These Terms of Use may be revised and updated periodically to reflect regulatory, technical, or business changes.

7.2 The date of the last update is shown at the bottom of this page. Your continued use of the application after changes are posted constitutes full acceptance of the updated Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must uninstall the application and discontinue use of the service.

### 8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

8.1 These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

8.2 The courts located in the Developer's domicile shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or in connection with these Terms, and you waive any objection to such courts on grounds of venue or inconvenient forum.

### 9. Support and Contact

9.1 The developer makes reasonable efforts to provide technical support and answer questions through the official contact email: [renan10r_@hotmail.com](mailto:renan10r_@hotmail.com).

9.2 You acknowledge that support is provided based on developer availability and does not constitute a guarantee of immediate problem resolution.

Last updated: July 27, 2026. By continuing to use PulveCast, you acknowledge that you have read and understood all the conditions above and fully agree to them.
